SALEM HILL RELEASES SEVENTH STUDIO ALBUM “Mimi’s Magic Moment”
31 Jul 2011
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA – 4 October 2005 -- Salem Hill, with ProgRock Records, is pleased to announce their seventh studio album, "Mimi's Magic Moment". Comprised of four epic tracks, "MMM" once again finds Salem Hill exploring new ground. "We each had rather epic ideas," explains Salem Hill founder Carl Groves. "And it was strange as Mike [Dearing] and I wanted to do a concept album. But since our last album was conceptual and 3 of the last 4 have been conceptual, we decided to challenge ourselves and see if we could tell the stories within single--albeit epic--pieces. So, on 'Mimi' we have a three rather complex story-like pieces that span 15 to 20 minutes each, and then, for good measure, and humorous commentary on a certain pop star. It's a very cool album. Lots of guests, lots of ear candy, lots of emotion and wankerage. I think folks will groove on it!" Salem Hill was formed in 1991 by Groves, bassist Pat Henry, and drummer Kevin Thomas. Michael Dearing, a childhood chum of Groves' joined a bit later. Their goal was simple: Make music of creative and artistic merit. Not an easy task in the blossoming Grunge era. Nevertheless, the band recorded and released their debut, "Salem Hill" in the spring of 1992. This album, along with its follow-up, "Different Worlds" in 1993 garnered promising reviews. “Mimi’s Magic Moment” is available for immediate ordering from http://www.progrockrecords.com/shop/view.php?id=77, all pre-sale orders will be autographed by the band. Pre-sales will ship in mid-October and general brick and mortar stores by mid November 2005.
