FRAMESHIFT’S SECOND ALBUM FEATURING SEBASTIAN BACH TO BE RELEASED IN MARCH 2005
31 Jul 2011
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - 11 January 2005 - An absence of Empathy with Sebastian Bach on lead vocals is the follow up album to Frameshift’s critically acclaimed 2003 debut Unweaving the Rainbow which featured James LaBrie of legendary progmetal veterans Dream Theater. This new CD is a concept album about the violent nature of humanity seen from different angles. Because of the more aggressive sound and darker subject matter, Sebastian Bach was the logical choice for this album. Bach has made a name as lead singer for the multi million selling band Skid Row who he left to continue his career on Broadway where he sang leading roles in Jesus Christ Superstar, Jekyll and Hide and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He is touring with his new band around the globe. A welcomed guest on MTV and VH1 shows, his schedule is very busy, but he could find two weeks to fly to California in order to record the vocals for this album. He is also a featured guest WB’s The Gilmore Girls. Henning Pauly, the musician behind the first Frameshift album, wrote and performed all the music except for drums which are played by his brother Eddie. He got help for lyrics and melodies from Matt Cash (singer for Henning’s band Chain) and songwriter Adam Evers. Henning describes the music as a heavy approach to film scoring. His writing is very visual which is also why Sebastian Bach was the ideal candidate for the vocals because of his experiences with Heavy Metal, as well as Broadway. The sound of the album is very modern progmetal bordering on metal with nu-metal influences. After recording the vocals for the song “This is gonna hurt” Bach said: “I love it when two guys who never met each other can get together and immediately make good music!” An absence of empathy is the logical continuation in ProgRock Record’s lineup of high quality titles. The label continues to add high profile musicians to their catalog while maintaining true to their philosophy that the music has to be good no matter what the name behind it is. After James LaBrie, Michael Sadler, Guy Manning, Mike Keneally, Jody Ashworth, Chain etc. Sebastian Bach as the vocalist for Frameshift is another step towards worldwide recognition for the label. An absence of empathy by Frameshift will be available worldwide in early February 2005.
