ProgRock Records Acquired by WMD Holdings
31 Jul 2011
I have a big announcement to share with you. Last week we finalized a deal to sell ProgRock Records to WMD Holdings stock symbol WMDH on the OCTBB. No WMD doesn't stand for Weapons of Mass Destruction in this case, it's the initials of the founders. Basically Henning Pauly of Chain and Frameshift fame works for a couple of WMD's divisions and this is how we met and got talking. I believe this is a "good thing" all the way around, but I'm sure you have some questions about what will change and what will stay the same, here are some answers for your anticipated questions: * I've been employed as President to run ProgRock Records just as I've been doing. WMD doesn't know anything about the record industry and they don't want to know anything, they expect me to run it and make a profit. * WMD provides us with capital to better grow the label through marketing, etc. * This has no affect on our artists or prices or anything else other than having a new shipping address to send payment to and a new bank to deal with when buying from us. * We are expanding actually, there is a new top level record label we have created called "The Record Label" which will go up at www.therecordlabel.net and we will create more genre specific sub labels to handle other markets. * We will also likely expand in to doing DVD's as well. This is a good thing, and we're really excited about it. You can own a piece of the action too by buying the stock. It only recently went public, so the price is low right now and a good buy. We have lots of exciting news that we will be announcing this summer, so hold on to your hats.
